Pasadena, California  – Are you looking forward to 4th of July fireworks?  I know I am… always a great time to have a picnic with friends and family.  To make it easy for our 365 Things To Do in Pasadena® fans, we’ve put together a list of local celebrations!  So… get your blanket and picnic basket out and go to the closest park or venue to enjoy a spectacular display of fireworks!

The Rose Bowl in Pasadena

Come and enjoy one of the largest fireworks displays in Southern California – the 86th Annual 4th of July celebration at Rose Bowl – Americafest 2012 

Celebrate our Independence day with music, food and fireworks with “Family Fun on the 4th”. There will be food vendors, entertainment, crafts, exhibits and inflatable rides for the kids. Opening ceremonies will begin at 7:00 pm. Don’t miss out on all the excitement!

Schedule of Events

2:00 p.m. –   Festival begin outside the stadium with food & games for kids on Area H
6:30 p.m. –   Stadium Gates open for all seating
7:15 p.m. –   Opening Ceremonies, Presentation of Colors and National Anthem
7:25 p.m. –   Programme Begins
9:00 p.m. – The Biggest Fireworks Show in Souther California produced by PyroSpectacular by Souza

South Pasadena

Watch out for the celebration 4th of July in South Pasadena! It’s going to be a whole day event that includes colorful parade, charity run/walk, live music, sponsor booth, food vendors, fireworks display and more!

Tickets: Pancake Breakfast-$7 and for Fireworks- $10

Schedule of Activities

  • 7am – Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast, SP Fire Station
  • 10:30am – Opening Ceremonies, SP Library
  • 11am – Parade, Mission Street to Garfield Park
  • 12pm – Games and food Garfield Park
  • 5pm – Greenest Fastest Mile Fun Run
  • 9pm – Fireworks Display at South Pasadena High School Stadium

Almansor Park in Alhambra

Bring the whole family and watch the extravagant fireworks display at Alhambra’s annual 4th of July Extravaganza!
Carry your own picnic basket or purchase delicious food from participating food stalls – see the show anywhere in the park. There will be limited parking space, so arrive early and take your seats as fireworks display will start at 9:00pm.  Admission is free!

Rosemead Park

This year, the city’s theme for largest and most popular annual community celebration, the Independence Day parade and festival is “Rosemead: Looking Back, Moving Forward”.  The celebration will kick off  with its annual parade at 10 a.m. at Valley Boulevard at Bartlett Avenue and will travel east to Loma Avenue then north to Rosemead Park.  The festivity will continue at Rosemead park with carnival rides, music, food, and the grand display of fireworks.

Entry to the event is free for all ages.  Wristbands for the carnival rides can be purchased on the day of the event for $15, along with single ride tickets.

Dogs and fireworks are NOT allowed at the park during the event.

Edgewood Middle School in West Covina

It’s gonna be an exciting 2-day event in the City of West Covina so bring the whole family enjoy this fun-filled celebration! The city will be celebrating the 21st Annual Independence Day with carnival, great food, games, rides and entertainment. The 2 day event will end with the magnificent display of fireworks on the 4th of July.

The Hollywood Bowl

Fantastic celebration of July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at Hollywood Bowl. People will be serenaded with patriotic music tribute from special guest American Pop icon Barry Manilow together with the Los Angeles Philharmonic followed by the most anticipated display of fireworks. Show will start at 7:30 p.m.

The Fairplex of Pomona

Celebrate the 4th of July at KABOOM! with Monster Truck, extreme Motocross, live entertainment and breathtaking display of patriotic-choreographed fireworks for grand finale. It’s going to be one extremely exciting celebration – so bring your whole family!
Gates open at 5pm, Monster truck show at 8pm and fireworks spectacular at 9:20pm. Buffet dinners are served from 5pm to 9pm.

San Marino – Lacy Park Fireworks

Get your blankets and lawn chairs ready for the celebration of 4th of July in the City of San Marino – it’s going to be loads of fun with a community parade of shmoozing classic cars, stage entertainment, food booths, a fun zone and the most anticipated grand display of fireworks. The 4th of July celebration will also coincide with San Marino Centennial celebration – so it’s gonna be twice the fun and excitement!

The Virginia Road entrance to Lacy Park will open at 8 a.m and you MUST wear a wristband to enter. No entrance will be allowed via St. Albans Road until 3 pm. Guests may reserve areas with blankets and chairs.

ALL wristbands purchased on the Fourth of July are $20 each (for residents and non-residents).
Children 2 and under are free.
