4th of July 2013As we get ready to celebrate our country’s independence this 4th of July, here’s a list of events you can attend around Pasadena!

The Rose Bowl in Pasadena

Come and enjoy one of the largest fireworks displays in Southern California – the 87th Annual 4th of July celebration at Rose Bowl – Americafest 2013

Celebrate our Independence day with music, food and fireworks with “Family Fun on the 4th”. There will be food vendors, entertainment, crafts, exhibits and inflatable rides for the kids. Activities begin at 2 pm. Don’t miss out on all the excitement!

Schedule of Events

2:00 p.m. –   Festival begin outside the stadium with food & games for kids on Area H
6:30 p.m. –   Stadium Gates open for all seating
7:00 p.m. –   Live TNT motorcycle stunts and a special performance by Mariachi Divas & Kenny G
9:00 p.m. – The Biggest Fireworks Show in Southern California produced by PyroSpectacular by Souza

  • Parking will open at 9:00 am
  • Parking on Brookside Golf Course will begin at 3:30 pm

Almansor Park in Alhambra

Bring the whole family and watch the extravagant fireworks display at Alhambra’s annual 4th of July Extravaganza!

At noon, to start off the festivities of the day there will be local food vendors, family activities and carnival games.  And before seeing the firework show at 7:30 pm, enjoy community based entertainment including the Surfin Safari Band!

For the evening, carry your own picnic basket or purchase delicious food from participating food stalls – see the show anywhere in the park. There will be limited parking space, so arrive early and take your seats as the fireworks display will start at 9:00pm.  Admission is free!

Rosemead Park

This year, the City of Rosemead will begin its events with the first-ever 4th of July 5K at 8:00 a.m.  This run will begin and end at Rosemead park.  More information about the run and registration can be found at Rosemead5K.com.  Then, Rosemead’s annual parade will begin at 10 am on Muscatel Avenue and Valley Boulevard.  It will feature floats, bands, dignitaries, classic cars, and other fun surprises!

Wristbands for the unlimited carnival rides can be purchased through the City’s Parks and Recreation Department now through July 3rd for only $12.  All other activities are free!

Dogs and fireworks are NOT allowed at the park during the event.

Edgewood Middle School in West Covina

It’s gonna be an exciting 2-day event in the City of West Covina, so bring the whole family enjoy this fun-filled celebration! The city will once again host an Independence Day Celebration with carnival rides, great food, games, rides and entertainment. The 2 day event will end with the magnificent display of fireworks on the 4th of July.

8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. – Pancake Breakfast @ Hurst Ranch – $4 per person: includes pancakes, sausage, juice, milk, & coffee.

6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. – Entertainment by Sangria & Fireworks Show sponsored by the City of West Covina

The Hollywood Bowl

Fantastic celebration of July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at Hollywood Bowl. People will be serenaded with this year’s music artist Josh Groban followed by the most anticipated display of fireworks. Show will start at 7:30 p.m.

Ticket prices are between $15 and $243, but there is a 50% discount for children (12 and under) – which is great for the whole family!

The Fairplex of Pomona

Celebrate the 4th of July at KABOOM! with Monster Truck, extreme Motocross, live entertainment and breathtaking display of patriotic-choreographed fireworks for grand finale. It’s going to be one extremely exciting celebration – so bring your whole family!

San Marino – Lacy Park Fireworks

Get your blankets and lawn chairs ready for the celebration of 4th of July in the City of San Marino – it’s going to be loads of fun with a community parade of classic cars, stage entertainment, food booths, a fun zone and the most anticipated grand display of fireworks.

The Virginia Road entrance to Lacy Park will open at 8 a.m and you MUST wear a wristband to enter. No entrance will be allowed via St. Albans Road until 3 pm. Guests may reserve areas with blankets and chairs.

ALL wristbands purchased on the Fourth of July are $20 each (for residents and non-residents).
Children 2 and under are free.
