Fireworks Anyone?

Break out the BBQ’s and get ready for a day of fun and excitement! Day 45 of 365 Things to do in Pasadena™ prepares us for our Independence Day Celebrations. We have a few recommendations for you. The Rose Bowl in Pasadena will be presenting their 84th annual Americafest 4th of July Celebration.  Here you will be able to celebrate a whole day of affordable family fun with music, food vendors, and entertainment from Drum Corps International.  Americafest 2010 Schedule of Events:

  • 2:00 pm   Family Fun Festival & Food Court on Area H
  • 7:00 pm   Drum Corps International Performance & Military Tribute
  • 9:00 pm   Americafest Fireworks presented by The Rose Bowl Stadium & Pyrospectaculars

San Marino Fireworks!

Now venturing out of Pasadena just a bit…we can do it for the sake of fireworks! You may want  head out to the city of  San Marino to take in their their annual Lacy Park 4th of July Celebration.

The Virgina Road entrance to the park will be open at 7:00 a.m. and no entrance will be allowed via St. Albans road until 3:00 p.m. Guests are invited to reserve areas using blankets and chairs (no ropes or stakes will be permitted). The festivities will kick off at 4:45 with a community parade, game  booths and bingo will be available from 5-8 p.m. and stage entertainment will be presented from 6-9 p.m. The fireworks display begins promptly at 9:00.p.m.

Wristbands may be purchased at the San Marino Recreation Dept. June 28th -July 2nd the cost for Non-resident wristbands are $15 per person and $20 per person if purchased on July 4th. For additional information please call 626-943-2627.

Alhambra Fireworks!

Another local fireworks display will be presented by the City of Alhambra @ Almansor Park. Food and beverage sales will begin at 3:00 p.m. with a fireworks display at 9:00 p.m.

Thanks are due to the members of the City of Alhambra Youth Commission for their efforts in organizing the food vendors, and their solicitation of prizes to be awarded to the groups who decorate their booths in the most patriotic manner. Admission to the event is free, but there will be a premium for parking. For additional information please contact 626.570.5007.
