Does anyone know where the best place to see pics or videos online of the floats? Was traveling back from NY yesterday and saw none of the parade.
PS – Irina – pics are imminent!
HI Duncan, here’re some great pix by Pat Breana – http://www.flickr.com/photos/patbreana/ and by Jim Schnobrich at http://www.flickr.com/photos/sfphotocraft/ Enjoy and Happy New Year!!!
[...] Post Parade Floats Viewing [...]
According to the rose parade official site, it says that the post parade showcase of the floats will be held JANUARY 2 @ 8am. Why is it that you posted that it will be available January 3 and 4?!

i watched on tv since i move from west coast it was disappointing to see it on every channel here in pa
channel 5 was always best for viewing ..
Lori, do they show snippets of the parade or rerun Channel 5′s coverage?
Lindsay, you are absolutely right. There was some confusion… The post has been corrected. THANKS!
The Tournament of Roses web site cited herein says that a Float Audio Tour podcast is available on iTunes under “podcasts”. I tried doing a variety of Searches under “podcasts” for such subjects as “Float Audio Tour,” but the Search found only the Audio Tour for 2009! I cannot find instructions on how to get at the 2012 Float Audio Tour podcast.
Oliver, yep… you are right… I couldn’t find it anywhere as well. The last podcast is from 2010. Not sure why it’s not up yet since information is taken directly from the Tournament of Roses site.
Is the area for viewing the flosts wheelchair “easy” (ie parking lot) or is still in a field?
Monica, there’s a special viewing time from 7 am to 9 am. It’s in Victory Park… not sure if anything else special has been done.
There are those of us who would love to go view the Floats with our children, but don’t necessarily have the $10 a piece which would equate to $80 for our group.. Might I suggest an option for those of us less fortunate besides being entirely excluded based on the lack of funds? Please? My kids are just as curious and worthy as the next…
Hi Michelle, yes… it can get pricey for a large family. If you want to take the kids to see the float, you can walk up Orange Grove either the night before or early am. It’s always fun to see the floats as they’re being set up for the parade.
Quite disappointed with the floats this year. (2013) Floats not as beautiful or detailed as years past. Fewer use of flowers and more use of “flat panels” of crushed flower pedals, etc. Won’t go next year. This has been happening as years go by. Bring back the floats of a decade ago.
