Altadena’s Secluded Wildwood Park Opens for an Art and Fine Craft Show

SPRING 2014 Art on Palm Show will be held on Saturday May 10TH!

Looking for a dog- and kid-friendly event in or around Pasadena?  We’re thrilled to announce that Art on Palm, Altadena’s art and fine craft festival, will celebrate its 10 anniversary Saturday, May 10, 2014, 9:30 – 5, at 1421 E. Palm Street, Altadena. Over 40 artists and musicians will exhibit and perform at the Art on Palm, Spring 2014 in the secluded canyon of ‘Wild Wood Park’ and raise funds for the Creative Arts Group of Sierra Madre. In prior years Art on Palm raised an aggregate sum of $15,000 for the Greater L.A. Fisher House.

The show and sale features ceramics, collage, encaustic, glass, jewelry, photography, textiles, woodworking and more. Participating artists are: Charolette Barnard, Erica Batchelder, Marcia Bloom, Evan Chambers, Catherine and Ovie Cowles, Mary Jane Elgin, Lucia Friedericy, Elisa Goodman, Jim Heuston, Beverly Jones, Susan Kromka, Ron Lawrenz, Dawn Mendelson, Betsy Miller, Katherine Nakazono, Lucia Pasquinelli, Anne Sears, Maryrose Smyth, Kathy Spear, Kathleen Swaydan, Daniel Taylor, Cassandra Tondro,  Naomi Tratar, Anna Vosburg, Tris Wasserman,  Louise Wannier, Lys Wilcox,  Bruce Wilson, Nancy Unruh,  Lucia Yang,  and David Van Noppen.

Under a canopy of ancient oaks, 32 artists will display finely crafted works, from elegant wearables to memorable gifts. “Art on Palm really does have something for everyone”, states Mary Jane Elgin, the event-s co-founder. “Art on Palm promotes gifted local artists, rewards a loyal audience with fresh and unique work, and even raises funds for the Greater L.A. Fisher House.”

Since 2006, Art on Palm artists have donated a portion of their sales to the Greater L.A. Fisher House Foundation, which provides humanitarian support for hospitalized military personnel and their families. “The Greater L.A. Fisher House acknowledges this generosity. Contributions from Art on Palm help us provide much-needed humanitarian relief to military members and their families during hospitalization at the Westwood V.A”, commented Tim Byk, Founder and Executive Director, Greater L.A.
