Pasadena Showcase House of Design – 2016

Pasadena Showcase House of Design – 2016

Pasadena Showcase House of Design will start of this year’s tour with a grand Mission Revival house in La Cañada. Built by New York restaurant owner Leon C. Riggs in 1918, this two-story 6,000 square feet house with 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, along with a 2,032 square foot 2 bedroom, 2 bath guest house, are situated on a 2-acre lot surrounded by mature trees and several gardens. This home also features an outdoor barbecue area, pool and spa. Shortly after its completion, Riggs sold it to the family of Alexander Dryburgh, who named the estate “Dryborough Hall”.

The main floor contains spacious rooms with lavish windows and ceilings. Be on the look out for the beautiful details such as oak floors, hardwood-paneled walls, built-in bookcases and multiple fireplaces. The second floor contains the family living quarters, master suite, a sitting room with fireplace and a cedar-lined storage room. In addition, a finished basement, which runs under the entire house features a gym, spa and bar!

This year, Showcase will be in the beautiful and welcoming city of La Cañada Flintridge” says Marilyn Campbell Anderson, Benefit Chair for the 2016 Pasadena Showcase House of Design. “We can’t thank this city and its employees enough for their support and assistance with our project

Don’t miss out on visiting The Shops at Showcase and dining at The Restaurant, called The Berkshire, or grabbing a drink at the Saffron Lounge.
