Looking for a worthy cause to volunteer for?
Day of 365 Things to do in Pasadena™ takes a look at what Soldiers’ Angels is doing in Pasadena, and around the world for our Military.
Soldiers’ Angels was founded right here in Pasadena, CA by self-described “ordinary mom” of two American soldiers, Patti Patton-Bader. Her eldest son, Staff Sergeant Brandon, deployed to Iraq from 2003-2004, and her youngest son deployed in 2008.
During the summer of his 2003 deployment, Brandon expressed concern that some soldiers in his unit did not receive any mail or support from home. Being a loving and caring mother, Patti decided not to allow a situation like that to continue. She quickly contacted a handful of friends and extended family and asked if they would support a soldier or two. Within just a few months, Soldiers’ Angels went from a mother sending a few extra care packages and letters, to an Internet community with thousands of Angels worldwide. With more and more merchants donating services, money and items for packages, Soldiers’ Angels reorganized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2004.
Soldiers’ Angels has countless “angels” that ensure our military personnel, their families and our veterans are supported during their time of need. There are countless ways and opportunities where you can help and donate to such a tremendous cause.
Soldiers Angels Corporate Headquarters is located at 1792 E. Washington Blvd., Pasadena 91104. To learn about how you can donate and volunteer please visit The Soldiers Angels Website.
Have you volunteered for Soldiers’ Angels? If so we would love to hear to hear about it! We hope you will share your story and pictures with us.
We, here at the Pasadena Views Real Estate Team, send out a huge Thank You to all the angels who have made this organization and our military so strong! We look forward to joining in your efforts and spreading awareness!
May no soldier go unloved.
May no soldier walk alone.
May no soldier be forgotten,
Until they all come home
With love and respect,
