Altadena – May Trends in Real Estate

Altadena Real Estate Market: When the housing market peaked back in 2006, no one really thought about a long housing bust lasting up to 5 years.  However, we are seeing indications that it’s a great time to buy. Why?  For starters, the mortgage interest rate has been around 4.5% the first week of June 2011.  And, the lower home prices make it affordable for buyers who have been carefully waiting on the side lines.

36 properties were sold, and 31 homes went into contract (escrow).

Compare to the month of April,  for sale units went up 9.4%.  Sold units increased by 38.5%.

Months of inventory fell from 3.7 months in April to 2.9 months in May, a change of 21.6%.
