If so, I’m assuming you’ve been getting yourself ready for the event that day 361 of 365 Things To Do in Pasadena® is about to share with you.

The 2012 Pasadena Marathon presented by Kaiser Permanente and is taking place Sunday, May 20th!

The event will feature a full & half marathon, bike tour and a 5k kidswalk. Organized by Pasadena Forward in partnership with Renegade Racing, this marathon will serve as a fundraiser to support their ongoing non-profit operations.

The race will start and end at Pasadena City College with a day-long Finish Festival at same site. An estimated 9,000 people are expected to participate!  The route will take runners past our City’s renowned cultural landmarks and through many of our scenic neighborhoods and vibrant commercial districts. Parking for the event is free and will be located at the Pasadena City College Campus and nearby Caltech.

Bike Tour – 5:45am
Marathon – 6:30am
Half Marathon – 6:30am
10K – 7:30am
5K – 7:30am
1K Wheelchair Stroll – 8:00am
1K / 0.5K Kids Run – 9:00am

Another great series of athletic events kicking in June is the 20th Annual Pasadena Senior Olympics!

Pasadena Senior Olympics

The 19th Annual Pasadena Senior Games is hosted by the Pasadena Senior Center will be held from June 2nd to July 1st.

They will feature 27 Competitive Sporting Events for Men and Women Age 50+, the 2012 Senior Games sporting events range from Archery to Basketball, Swimming to Track and Field and more. New, this year are Disc Golf and Power Walking.

If you’re a long time competitive athlete, age 50+, one who’d like to experience the thrill of achieving a personal best, or someone just starting out, the Pasadena Senior Games offer an avenue for everyone – from seasoned athlete to novice. Venues are located throughout the Southern California.
