In the mood for a Burger and a pool game?
Day 184 of 365 Things To Do in Pasadena invites you to an Old Town favorite, Jake’s!
Now Jake’s has been a Pasadena staple since the days of classic hot rods, drive-in movies, and located on the World Famous Colorado Boulevard. They have been dishing up what some may say is the best burger in town since 1947!
In the 1980’s, they expanded beyond burgers and opened their downstairs pool hall.
The pool hall has become a hit with the many of the Pasadena residents and visitors alike. A casual place to meet up with friends and have a good time. It’s also been rumored that the pool hall hosts the UFC Fights for FREE! Better get there early though, seating is limited and the space fills up fast!
I myself have visited the famous Jake’s downstairs pool hall and I’ve had a great time there!
Sure, the billiards critics have called this local spot cramped. Mentioned the tables are placed a little to close for comfort, and noted the the burgers are hit or miss & too pricey. But, most of those critics are outsiders. 😉 We are all entitled to tweet, facebook, and yelp out thoughts to the world. But MY memory serves as Jake’s billiard hall portion being a fun place to hang out with your friends, snack on some tasty bar food, and challenge your closest buddies to friendly game of pool.
Now, what I don’t recall is having one these monster burgers that everyone is talking about!
Do you see the things you can load onto this Bad Boy? I need to get myself to Jake’s for lunch pronto!
Ok, now I know that we have quite a few Pasadena food connoisseurs that keep a close eye on our 365 Things To Do in Pasadena activities.
Let’s hear it! What is the ULTIMATE burger at Jake’s in Pasadena?
What other burgers do YOU think can offer some competition? I know Irina visited The Counter and she had quite a tasty time there!
Looking forward to the recommendations! 😉
