Antiques and fine furnishings anyone?
I know antiquing has been of hobby of sorts for many many years now….
I have been recently exposed to all the TV Shows that glorify the “buy and sell all items old and interesting industry.” 😉 It’s always so amazing to see the “pickers” go out and find some of America’s lost treasure in a random attic or back yard!
Today we bring a little of that fun to Pasadena. Day 239 of 365 Things To Do in Pasadena sends all of our auction hunters over to the John Moran Antique and Fine Furnishings Auction.
The Auction will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Pasadena Convention Center

Fun Anecdote: Just the other day, I saw a show called American Pickers where this team of treasure seekers, funny guys, went down to look for items to purchase from an old amusement park. They roamed the grounds and bought these old hand-painted carnival “freakshow”, if you will, canvas murals. They bought 2 of them for $700.00 and sold them for $10,000.00. They actually went back to the gentleman they bought them from and gave him $5,000.00 toward the cost of re-opening the amusement park. It’s nice to see a true heartwarming ending these days.
Happy hunting to you!
If you do attend be sure to let us know what you come home with! 😉
