Day 47: Pasadena Farmers Market

Day 47: Pasadena Farmers Market

Looking for locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables?

Have we got the place for you!

Day 47 of 365 Things to do in Pasadena™ takes us to the Villa-Parke Center Farmers Market.

Held on Tuesdays at 363 East Villa St. @ Garfield Avenue  from 8:30 a.m -12:30 p.m.

If you have not yet had the experience of a Pasadena Farmers Market then you are in for a real treat.  It’s delightful to get to meet the farmers of the fresh fruits, vegetables, and farm products available for purchase. You get to learn where and how the produce is grown and you can ask all about the process used to grow the foods you will take home to prepare!

The produce is made available by certified farmers market vendors only. What is a certified vendor you ask?

A certified farmers market is a location approved by the county agricultural commissioner where certified farmers offer for sale only those agricultural products they grow themselves.

A farmer can not sell you fruits, vegetables or other farm products that they did not grow, so you know exactly where and whom your products come from.

The Villa Parke Center Farmers Market was first opened in 1980 and has been open every week  rain or shine since!   The only exception is the week of the Tournament of Roses Parade.

There are quite a few Farmers Markets that take place during the week here in Pasadena. Visit one of these fabulous markets this week to make your 4th of July celebration a success with delicious fruits and veggies to share!
