Here is a little MLF history information:

The Mortimer Levitt Foundation (MLF), created in 1966 by New York humanitarians Mortimer and Mimi Levitt, their mission was to donate funds in  support of the performing arts venues that support diversity and enhanced access to the arts. Mortimer Levitt, who had a lifetime love affair with outdoor music, grew up in an era when almost every community had a Sunday afternoon concert on the village green. Enjoying outdoor music under the stars felt extremely magical to him and on his 90th birthday, Mortimer sold the company he had owned for 60 years and decided to replace his 82 custom shirt shops with Levitt Pavilions around the country.

Mortimer Levitt passed away in 2005 at the age of 98. The foundation lives on to support music and the performing arts that Mortimer so deeply enjoyed and started, the Friends of the Levitt Foundation also aid in carrying  on his traditions. His wife Mimi Levitt is now  president of the Mortimer Levitt Foundation and his daughter, Elizabeth Levitt Hirsch, serves as vice president and develops the expansion of the program.

We can’t wait to hear about your favorite concert experiences this summer! If you know of any other musical events taking place feel free to share them with us.
