Day 37: Pasadena Chalk Festival

Day 37 of 365 Things To Do in Pasadena™ brings us to the Pasadena Chalk Festival.

A few years ago, I attended the chalk festival in Pasadena and was absolutely blown away by the talent on display.  2011 Pasadena Chalk Festival will be held in Paseo Colorado.  If you’ve visited any of the previous chalk festivals, I’m sure that you do not need any prompting and will be there.  If you have not, definitely put that on your To Do list.

Here’re some of the photos that I took:

As we celebrate Father’s Day Weekend on June 19 and 20, the Pasadena Chalk Festival will be held on both days from 10am to 7pm. This annual festival is open to the public and is free of charge.

To celebrate it’s 18th anniversary, the 2010 Pasadena Chalk Festival will attempt to make history by setting the Guinness World Record for the Largest Display of Chalk Pavement Art!

The Pasadena Chalk Festival benefits the community arts programs of the Light Bringer Project, a Pasadena-based nonprofit arts organization founded by local residents who were interested in the role the arts, architecture and design played in the growth and development of their community.  For more information on Light Bringer Project programs and partnerships, please visit www.lightbringerproject.com.

Paseo Colorado is located at 280 East Colorado Boulevard (between Marengo and Los Robles Avenues) in the heart of Pasadena’s historic downtown Civic Center.  For more information, please visit Pasadena Chalk Festival’s website here.
