“New Eyes”, the smash-hit, critically acclaimed, one woman show written and performed by Yafit Josephson is coming to the Pasadena Playhouse on Saturday May 5, 2012, after a 2-year sold out run in LA.
NEW EYES tells the life story of Yafit, a young woman living in Israel who joins the Israeli army to serve heroically for her country. Upon completing her service, she moves to Los Angeles to follow her dream of becoming an actress but finds herself constantly cast only as a Middle Eastern villain.
Just as her native country wrestles with the world’s false perceptions, Yafit must decide how far she is willing to go to challenge, change, or accept how others see her, and what she is willing to risk to fulfill her dreams and destiny. NEW EYES explores universal themes of self-esteem, family, identity and cultural differences.
In “New Eyes”, Yafit portrays over 18 characters including an Israeli soldier, casting director, plastic surgeon, yoga instructor, Jewish mother, and even a matchmaker as she tells her story… the story through her eyes… the “New Eyes”.
Performance lasts 80 minutes without an intermission. And, Yafit is available for a Q&A after each performance.
Only 4 performances:
May 5th and May 12th at 8 pm
May 6th and May 13th at 2 pm
