Now I know its the weekend and nobody wants to think of homework or tests.
Anyone who has a child or children headed to college soon may find today’s activity rather helpful.
Day 247 of 365 Things To Do AROUND Pasadena has got a special treat for parents and children alike, a FREE Practice PSAT Test.
Saturday, January 22nd the Altadena Public Library is offering students 12yrs and older a free PSAT Test.
Most colleges and universities around the country, require the kids to take either the SAT test or the ACT test and include these results as part of their admissions process. This is a great opportunity to see how your child will perform. So… it’s never too early to get ready for the SAT!
See how your child will score without affecting their college record by taking a full-length test under realistic testing conditions. All the kids need is pre-register, and bring a calculator and two #2 pencils.
So whether you are a parent of a “high schooler” or one of our teenage 365 Things To Do Fans, this is a great opportunity to get a little practice and learn the areas that need a bit more attention and focus before taking the actual SAT exam.
For additional information or to pre-register please stop by the Children’s Information Desk at the Altadena library, call 626.798.0833 x 109 or email Heather at Hfirchow(at)altadenalibrary(dot)org or click on the Altadena Events link.
The PSAT will begin at 10:30 am and run until 2:30 pm.
There are some great programs available for children at the Altadena Library.
Ranging from volunteer opportunities, a Tween book club, story times for children of all ages, barks & books reading times, guides for looking up resources to help with homework and report researches, and they offer a class on beginning MS Word for kids. Children will learn the basics on how to complete homework assignments and reports, such as: creating a document, formatting, and inserting pictures.
There will be new classes starting in January. Be sure to stop by the Children’s Information Desk to learn more.
