Your eyes did not deceive you. Day 77 of 365 things to in Pasadena™ highlights The Bunny Museum!

The world’s largest bunny collection is housed in a living museum with bunny collectibles of every size, shape, and matter.

Candace has also hopped on board and volunteered to decorate Tournament of Roses floats featuring bunnies for years.

Here is how it all began…Candace Frazee and Steve Lubanski met at a weekly single’s discussion group called “Seminars for Singles” in Pasadena, California on August 16, 1992. After that Sunday, they never returned.

On Valentines Day of 1993, Steve gave Candace a white plush because Candace called him her “Honey Bunny”. Candace gave Steve a white, porcelain bunny on Easter. At first, they gave each other bunny gifts on holidays. Steve not wanting to wait, started the tradition of giving bunny gifts to each other, every day!

They wed in May of 1994 and the therapist that introduced them at their singles group served as their Matron of Honor. As you can imagine the wedding was a “Hoppening” bunny themed event complete with a carrot cake made by Candace!

To this day they continue to give each other daily bunny love token gifts as an expression of their love…

Candace and Steve decided to share their gift with the world and opened the doors to their home and share the Bunny Museum to the Public om March 20th 1998 and have been open to the public 365 days a year ever since! On August 6, 1999 Candace and Steve were granted The Guinness World Record Certificate for the world’s largest bunny collection.

They didn’t set out to create a museum. They generously share their private collection with visitors because they believe that is what one should do.

Admission into their living museum is $5 for adults, with children until 4 are free, and is taken by appointment only. The 7 live rabbit pets that reside with them in their home ask that you bring them fresh fruits and veggie donations when visiting them. No carrots please.
